Control Files
As you use RICOH Accessibility Designer to tag the content of a PDF file, instead of saving markup in the PDF file itself, you save markup to one control file.
In a repeating environment where your PDF workflow does not change often, you could choose to create only one control file to be applied to multiple PDF files with identical or similar content. The control file is an XML document that contains all the information related to your project, including the PDF content and all the properties for an element, such as type, alternative text, or position.
- Important:
- The control file is not linked directly to the project saved with, it can be used with any other project for reusing tagged content. To add additional tagged content to the control file, you should open the project in RICOH Accessibility Designer, create rules and overwrite the existing control file by exporting the project you have worked on.
To manage control files you use the RICOH Accessibility Designer menu option Export from File, the Control File section.
