Importing existing configuration files

Import existing font configuration files to view or modify font mappings.

You can import existing font configuration files from an AFP2PDF Plus installation, so you can view current mappings, modify them, and export updated configuration files.

To import existing configuration files:

  1. Select Project ⇒ Import.
    The browse folder dialog appears.
  2. Browse and select the folder containing the configuration files.

The folder should contain one or more of these files:

    alias.fnt
    External font aliases.
    a2pxopts.cfg
Specifies the settings that control the AFP2PDF Plus Transform. Lists all available options as commented-out entries. Clear the comments to use and add any required parameters.
    coded.fnt
Contains user-defined coded fonts. This file is optional. If it exists, AFP2PDF Plus Transform searches it first for the coded fonts used in an AFP file.
    icoded.fnt
    Coded font definitions.
    cpdef.fnt
    Code page definitions.
    csdef.fnt
    Character set definitions.

  3. Click OK.
The tool reads the configuration files and loads the font mappings into the project.

The font mappings from the configuration files are loaded into the project. You can now view and modify the mappings. Add an AFP file to preview the imported mappings. See Adding AFP files.

After modifying the mappings, export the updated configuration files. See Exporting configuration files.
