Selecting Base14 fonts

Map an AFP font to a Base14 font for maximum compatibility without font embedding.

Base14 fonts are standard PDF fonts available in all PDF viewers without embedding. They include Courier, Helvetica, and Times families. Using Base14 fonts results in smaller PDF files because the fonts do not need to be embedded.

  1. Go to Target font type list and select Base14 fonts from the list.
    The font selection options appear.
  2. Go to Target font and select the target font from the list:
    • Courier - Monospaced font
    • Helvetica - Sans-serif font
    • TimesNewRoman - Serif font
  3. Optional: Select Bold to apply bold style.
  4. Optional: Select Italic to apply italic style.
The preview panel updates to show the document with the Base14 font applied.
