Adding AFP files
Add an AFP file to your project to view the fonts it contains and configure font mappings.
- Create or open a project. See Creating a font mapping project.
- If the AFP file references external resources, configure the resource paths in Set font locations before adding the file.
When you add an AFP file, the tool reads the font information from the file and displays the fonts in the Document AFP Fonts panel. Fonts are categorized as either coded fonts or character set and code page fonts, depending on how they are specified in the AFP file.
To add an AFP file:
- Select .The Open dialog appears.
- Browse and select the AFP file you want to add.
- Click Open. The file appears in the FILES panel. The DOCUMENT AFP FONTS panel lists the fonts found in the file:
- Coded fonts
- Based on the IBM font naming convention, coded font names start with the letter X, for example X0GT12.
- Character sets
- The character sets names usually start with letter C followed by either a digit for raster fonts or the letter Z for outline fonts.
- Code pages
- The code pages names start with T1.
The AFP file is added to the project. You can now select fonts in the DOCUMENT AFP FONTS panel and configure their mappings.
- Note:
- If you move or rename an AFP file after adding it to a project, AFP2PDF Plus Config UI cannot locate the file the next time you open the project. To locate the file, right-click the file in the FILES panel and select Relink, then browse to and select the file at its new location. Your existing font mappings for that file are preserved.
