Selecting external TrueType fonts
Map an AFP font to a TrueType, OpenType, or TrueType Collection font.
Make sure you have configured the TrueType font folder location. See Setting font locations.
TrueType and OpenType fonts provide high-quality font rendering and are widely available. These fonts are embedded in the output PDF file.
- Go to Target font type and select External TrueType font from the list. The font selection options appear.
- Go to TrueType font and select or type the font name.
The list displays fonts found in your configured font folder. Specify the font name with the file extension:
- For TrueType fonts: arial.ttf
- For OpenType fonts: arial.otf
- For fonts in a TrueType Collection: FontName@collection.ttc
The preview panel updates to show the document with the TrueType font applied.
The font mapping is configured. The font file name is stored in the alias.fnt file when you export the configuration.
TrueType Collection example
To use a font from a TrueType Collection file, specify the font name followed by @
and the collection file name. For example, to use the Arial font from fonts.ttc, type:
Arial@fonts.ttc
