Downloading and Installing RICOH Data Collector
To start monitoring and gathering data from your printers, you must first install
the RICOH Data Collector application. If a data collector is not available, the Welcome to RICOH Predictive Insight page is displayed.
- On the Install Data Collector to Get Printer Data page, prepare to install RICOH Data Collector to connect to your printer and click Next.

- Check the computer requirements and click Next.

- Check the ports that you need to open and click Next.

- Check the URLs that need to be whitelisted from your firewall in order to be accessible
for the data collector. Click Next.

- On the Download & Install Data Collector page, click Download Data Collector for Windows or click here for Linux.

- Save the installation file to your computer.The procedure for saving the file depends on the web browser.
- Launch the installer as an administrator on a Windows system or as root on a Linux system.
- When the installer is displayed, select a language and click OK.
- In the Welcome dialog box, click Next.
- In the License Agreement dialog box:
- Read the license agreement.
- Click I accept the terms of the License Agreement.
- Click Next.
- In the Install Folder dialog box:
- If you want to change the default installation folder, click Choose.... Go to the folder where you want to install RICOH Data Collector and click OK.
- Click Next.
- Note:
- If you want to restore the default installation folder, click Restore Default Folder.
- Make sure that the installation path for RICOH Data Collector contains only characters from the same code page as the operating system.
- Make sure that the specified installation location contains the recommended disk space for installing and running RICOH Data Collector.
- On Linux, the default installation location,
/opt/RICOH/DataCollector, cannot be changed.
- In the Shortcut Folder dialog box:
- Specify where you want to create the product icons.
- Click Next.
- In the Proxy Settings dialog box:
- Review and update the information, if necessary. The installer attempts to detect automatically your system proxy configuration.
- Click Next.
- In the Cloud Connection dialog box:
- Review the list of required domains.Check the connection status for each domain:
- A check mark indicates the domain is reachable.
- A red X indicates the domain is not reachable.
- The system displays a warning message when one or more domains are unreachable.Note: The installation will still continue, but it is recommended that all domains are accessible to ensure full functionality.
- Click Next.
- Review the list of required domains.
- In the Automatic Updates dialog box:
- Enable or disable automatic RICOH Data Collector updates.
- Select a start time from the drop down list to define when updates begin.
- Select the time zone that applies to the scheduled update time.
- Choose the day or days when automatic updates should run.Note: You must select at least one day of the week. Otherwise, an error will occur and updates will not be scheduled.
- Click Next.
- In the Configure ports dialog box:
- Enter the port numbers for the RICOH Data Collector web server and the database server. You can change the default port number if you are already using the port.
- Click Next.
- In the Summary dialog box:
- Review the information you provided.
- To go back and edit the information you provided, click Previous.
- To proceed, click Install.
- After the installation is complete, select the Open RICOH Data Collector check box to open the application.
- Click Done to close the installer.
