Updating RICOH Data Collector

Whenever a new version of RICOH Data Collector is available, a message is displayed on the footer and on the top banner of the interface. The message shows the version number and lets you know that you can download or auto-update the new version.
To download and install a new version of RICOH Data Collector when you already have RICOH Data Collector installed:
  1. On the RICOH Data Collector main page, click either DOWNLOAD UPDATE or Auto-update now on the top banner, or Download button, the Download button, on the RICOH Data Collector footer.

    Note: Make sure that your system meets all the listed requirements.
  2. Save the installation file to your computer.
    The procedure for saving the file depends on the web browser.
  3. Launch the installer as an administrator on a Windows system or as root on a Linux system. The installer contains the file name, including the installer version, followed by the extensions .exe or .bin.
  4. When the installer is displayed, select a language and click OK.
  5. Follow the installer prompts to install the new version.

  6. Click Continue.
  7. In the Automatic Updates dialog box:
    Note: Automatic updates are available only for users running RICOH Data Collector installed on Windows.
    1. Enable or disable automatic RICOH Data Collector updates.
    2. Select a start time from the drop down list to define when updates begin.
    3. Select the time zone that applies to the scheduled update time.
    4. Choose the day or days when automatic updates should run.
      Note: You must select at least one day of the week. Otherwise, an error will occur and updates will not be scheduled.
    5. Click Next.
  8. After the installation is complete, select the Open RICOH Data Collector check box to open the application.
  9. Click Done to close the installer.
When you update RICOH Data Collector, you are prompted to restart the computer. Click Restart.

If RICOH Data Collector does not launch after the computer restart, run Repair, then restart the computer again. For information on how to run Repair, see the documentation of your operating system.

You can also download the most recent version of RICOH Data Collector from the General Settings page. Click Download button, the Download button, under Available updates.General Settings page

To instantly start the automatic update of the most recent version of RICOH Data Collector, you can click the Auto-Update Now button on the top banner. This option allows the system to download and install the latest version without requiring manual steps.
