Configuring Auto Updates in Data Collector

You can configure auto updates for your data collectors according to your needs. The RICOH Data Collector auto update runs silently in the background without requiring user interaction. This feature is available only for users running RICOH Data Collector installed on Windows.
To configure auto updates for your data collector:
  1. On the main page, click Settings button, the Settings button, in the top-right corner.
      Note:
    • Settings are only available when you are logged in to RICOH Data Collector.
  2. Select Configure Updates.
    The Settings page is displayed.
  3. Configure the settings from the Automatic Update Settings tab.Automatic Update Settings
    These settings are available:
    Enable or disable automatic RICOH Data Collector updates
    Toggle this option to enable or disable automatic RICOH Data Collector updates.
      Note:
    • This option is available for BETA customers only.
    • This option is available only if you have an administrator role.
    • By default, this option is disabled.
    • After enabling the RICOH Data Collector auto-update option, you can disable it at any time from the RICOH Data Collector interface.Automatic Update Settings
    Start time
    Select a start time from the drop down list to define when updates begin.
    Time zone
    Select the time zone that applies to the scheduled update time.
    Day of week
    Choose the day or days when automatic updates should run.
      Note:
    • You must select at least one day of the week. Otherwise, an error will occur and updates will not be scheduled.
  4. To save the changes, click OK.

To instantly start the automatic update of the most recent version of RICOH Data Collector, you can click the Auto-Update Now button on the top banner. This option allows the system to download and install the latest version without requiring manual steps.
