Upgrading InfoPrint Manager for Windows
To upgrade InfoPrint Manager for Windows to the latest version, insert the DVD-ROM entitled RICOH InfoPrint Manager for Windows: Base Server, LCD4-5659, into your DVD-ROM drive or mount the corresponding ISO file, and follow the on-screen prompts.

Important: Upgrading InfoPrint Manager for Windows requires environment-wide updates. If you plan to upgrade a server, be sure to allocate
sufficient time and resources for the following tasks:
- Upgrade all client applications (management and submission) on all networked workstations to the latest versions
- Upgrade all interoperating InfoPrint Manager for Windows servers to the latest versions to ensure compatibility and stability
- If you plan to interoperate with InfoPrint Manager for AIX or InfoPrint Manager for Linux, upgrade to the latest versions of InfoPrint Manager for AIX or InfoPrint Manager for Linux.
The InfoPrint Manager Installer will automatically upgrade your existing product configuration to the latest version of InfoPrint Manager for Windows.

- For detailed instructions on backing up your InfoPrint Manager for Windows system and restoring configuration files after the upgrade, see RICOH InfoPrint Manager for Windows: Getting Started.
- Any optional features from previous versions of InfoPrint Manager for Windows that are currently installed will be removed during the upgrade to the latest version of the base server software. This is necessary because older optional features might not be compatible with the latest server version.
- InfoPrint Manager for Windows replaced ICONV with UCONV for translating text strings from ASCII to EBCDIC. UCONV lets you use UTF16 characters for translation. If you have written your own ACIF (line2afp) exit code that is using ICONV, you must modify that exit program to use UCONV instead.
