Managing Access Control Lists security for InfoPrint Manager for Linux

InfoPrint Manager security is a feature that you administer through the InfoPrint Manager Management Interface.

It lets you protect your printing system by associating an Access Control List (ACL) with an InfoPrint Manager object or operation. An ACL is the list of users and groups who have specific types of permission to do something to or with an object.

Note: InfoPrint Manager Security only uses the login ID permissions. Therefore, if a user logs in and does an SU to root or to another user, the permissions associated with the original login ID remain in effect.

    When you add LDAP/Active Directory users to ACLs or Security groups, you identify them by their Login in the LDAP/Active Directory system. If these users use the same Login across workstations, they are able to work with InfoPrint Manager objects from other workstations.
