Upgrading InfoPrint Manager for Linux

To upgrade InfoPrint Manager for Linux to the latest version, insert the DVD-ROM entitled RICOH InfoPrint Manager for Linux: Base Server, LCD2-20035, into your DVD-ROM drive or mount the corresponding ISO file.

Important: Upgrading InfoPrint Manager for Linux requires environment-wide updates. If you plan to upgrade a server, be sure to allocate sufficient time and resources for the following tasks:
  • Upgrade all client applications (management and submission) on all networked workstations to the latest versions
  • Upgrade all interoperating InfoPrint Manager for Linux servers to the latest versions to ensure compatibility and stability
  • If you plan to interoperate with InfoPrint Manager for AIX or InfoPrint Manager for Windows, upgrade to the latest versions of InfoPrint Manager for AIX or InfoPrint Manager for Windows.

The InfoPrint Manager Installer will automatically upgrade your existing product configuration to the latest version of InfoPrint Manager for Linux.

    Note:
  1. For detailed instructions on backing up your InfoPrint Manager for Linux system and restoring configuration files after the upgrade, see RICOH InfoPrint Manager for Linux: Getting Started.
  2. Any optional features from previous versions of InfoPrint Manager for Linux that are currently installed will be removed during the upgrade to the latest version of the base server software. This is necessary because older optional features might not be compatible with the latest server version.
